Safety Rocks Limited seeks to inspire next generation as a new FIA Girls on Track UK programme partner!
Safety Rocks is delighted to announce that they are a Programme Partner for FIA Girls on Track for 2025 and beyond!
Safety Rocks has a clear social purpose within their company vision, increasing the understanding of risk within society, particularly amongst the young, as well as to change the perception of the profession from the traditional belief of safety being perceived as "dull and boring".
Increasing female participation within the motorsport and in the wider industry is one of the key drivers behind this new partnership.
Safety Rocks has been taking part in Girls on Track's event at Group Lotus where the team has been leading a Hazard Hunters and Risk Rangers activity, during which girls have needed to identify a range of hazards around a partially dismantled car on a workshop ramp and have created the next generation of Safety Rocks Stars.
Carla Crocombe, Founder and Managing Director, Safety Rocks Limited, comments, "There are many reasons why Girls on Track is a fit for us, one of which is its role in increasing female participation within the sport and in the wider motorsports industry. We believe that safety is not only a job for a small proportion of society, and that good safety doesn't have to compromise speed. We've been rocking safety for ten years now, and everything we do is designed to build a positive safety culture at every level and to make it inclusive and accessible. We want to inspire the next generation, encouraging more people into this critical profession from an early age and to take positive action on building greater accessibility, inclusion, and diversity within the health and safety profession."
Jenny Fletcher, Girls on Track UK Manager, adds, "The role of safety in motorsport is often overlooked, and we are thrilled to partner with Safety Rocks who offer an alternative approach to this, embracing change across the industry and in our sport. As a member focused organisation we embrace a diverse community that includes 700 affiliated motor clubs, 30,000 competition licence holders, 10,000 volunteer marshals, 4,000 officials and a legion of passionate motorsport spectators and fans. We issue over 5,000 event permits every year providing everyone with the opportunity to get close to the action. Motorsport UK is a not-for-profit organisation (limited by guarantee) that exists to service and grow the sport."
